Together We Can Improve Eye Health
The Eyes Do Matter Research Network (EDMRN) believes that the greatest advances in eye health are achieved through collaboration. Whether you are a researcher, clinician, student, patient, policymaker, charity, industry partner, or member of the public, there are many ways you can contribute to our mission of improving vision and reducing avoidable blindness through research, education, and innovation.
Become a Research Collaborator
EDMRN welcomes collaborations with universities, hospitals, research institutes, healthcare organisations, charities, government agencies, and industry partners from around the world. We are interested in developing multidisciplinary research projects, systematic reviews, clinical studies, epidemiological investigations, health economics research, public health initiatives, and international collaborations that improve eye care and visual outcomes.
If you have a research idea or would like to explore collaborative opportunities, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Support Our Research
High-quality research requires sustained investment. EDMRN welcomes support from philanthropic organisations, charitable foundations, industry partners, research funding agencies, and individual donors who share our commitment to advancing eye health.
Financial contributions help us to:
- Develop innovative research projects.
- Support students and early-career researchers.
- Generate evidence to improve clinical practice and public health policy.
- Expand international research collaborations.
- Disseminate research findings through publications, conferences, and educational resources.
Every contribution, regardless of size, helps advance our mission to improve vision and eye health for future generations.
Volunteer With EDMRN
Volunteers play an important role in supporting our activities. Opportunities may include assisting with community eye health initiatives, public awareness campaigns, educational events, patient engagement activities, research administration, literature reviews, data management, communications, and digital content development.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and levels of experience who are passionate about improving eye health.
Students and Early-Career Researchers
EDMRN is committed to supporting the next generation of vision researchers. We welcome enquiries from undergraduate students, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, medical and optometry trainees, and postdoctoral researchers interested in gaining experience in eye health research.
Where opportunities arise, students may become involved in:
- Systematic reviews and evidence synthesis.
- Epidemiology and public health research.
- Health economics and outcomes research.
- Clinical research projects.
- Scientific writing and publication.
- Research methods and data analysis.
Patients and Members of the Public
Patients and members of the public bring valuable lived experience that strengthens the relevance and impact of our research. We encourage individuals with an interest in eye health to participate in public engagement activities, contribute to research design, provide feedback on research priorities, and help shape future projects that address real-world needs.
Healthcare Professionals
Optometrists, ophthalmologists, orthoptists, family physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals are invited to collaborate with EDMRN through clinical research, patient recruitment, educational initiatives, guideline development, and knowledge translation activities.
Industry Partnerships
We welcome responsible collaborations with companies developing innovative technologies, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health solutions, and artificial intelligence applications that have the potential to improve eye care. All partnerships are conducted with a commitment to scientific integrity, transparency, and independence.
Spread the Word
You can also support EDMRN by sharing our research, educational resources, and public health messages with colleagues, patients, friends, and your community. Raising awareness of preventable vision loss is an important step towards improving eye health for everyone.
